Chic (1977) - rating: ****
The debut album fits in it the disco scene and includes the hits: "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" and "Everybody Dance". The other songs are also good like "São Paulo" with a latin feel to it, "Est-ce que c'est Chic?" puts the name of the band in a song. "Stike Up The Band" is a cathy theme song for the band on this first album. Reaching #27 in the US. The singles are in a long 12 inch lenght included therefore it has only 7 tracks.

C'est Chic (1978) - rating: *****
The band reaches the peak of their career with this one. It opens with another band theme like "Strike Up The Band". It works sounding like an Average White Band instrumental hit. The singles all became hits "Le Freak" and "I Want Your Love". The longest track is a ballad "At Last I Am Free" that has been covered later by Robert Wyatt in his own unique style.

Tres Chic (1978) - rating: *****
What is this you wonder. In Europe they released Tres Chic instead in 1978 which is the same as C'est Chic but adding to the 2 hits from the debut album to make it exactly 10 songs.

Risque (1979) - rating: ****
Another french title and the hits keep on rolling to make your feet keep dancing including "Good Times". "My Forbidden Lover" and "My Feet Keep Dancing". The rest of the album focuses on ballads.

Real People (1980) - rating: ****
Didn't had so much impact on the charts as their previous 3 albums but the funk is still great "Rebels Are We", the instrumental "Open Up". the title song and "Chip Off The Old Block".

Take It Off (1981) - rating: **
They were searching for a new sound in the 80's. Besides the female vocalists also Nile and Bernard did vocals on a song like "Your Love Is Cancelled" and "Flash Back".

Tongue In Chic (1982) - rating: ***
A good come-back but failed in the charts. Some great songs here: "When You Love Someone", "City Lights",  "I Feel Your Love Comin' On" (only released in the Netherlands as a single) and another band theme "Chic (Everybody Say).

Believer (1983) - rating: *****
Finally the band strikes back and fits perfectly within the 80's sounds. By now Nile Rodgers was a heavily respected producer. "You Are Beautiful"  and “Take A Closer Look” are the highlights here.. "In Love With Music" brings back memories.

Chic-Ism (1992)
Almost a decade later only Bernard and Nile entered the studio without Tony. The single "Chic Mistique"  made a it as a hitsingle again. I'm not familiar with the album so I can't say anything about it.
