Jacksons Albums

The Jacksons (1976) - rating: ***
The first album under the name of The Jacksons. Liberated from Motown. Produced by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff including 2 big hits: "Enjoy Yourself" and "Show You The Way To Go". Most songs are produced by the 2 producers.

Goin' Places (1977) - rating: *
Again produced and most songs written by Gamble and Huff. No hits anymore and The Jacksons realise they have to get rid of Gamble and Huff and write the songs themselves. The weakest album in their catalogue.

Destiny (1978) - rating: *****
Finally a fantasic album of the Jacksons. They've written all songs except for "Blame It on The Boogie" confusingly enough because the song credits read: M. Jackson. But that appears to be a Mick Jackson. Read all about it here! Again the hits are here again.

Triumph (1980) - rating: *****
Another great album including the hit "Can You Feel It".

Victory (1984) - rating: ****
The only album that include all 6 brothers. Since they don't use the name Jackson 5 anymore it is easier the include Randy also. Marlon an Michael decided no longer to be within the Jacksons afterwards to pursue their solo careers. This album includes more songs not sung by Michael and they are all good.

2300 Jackson Street (1989) - rating: *
The last album of the Jacksons named after the address they lived as a family. Overall it is a boring album. To be just as good as Michael is not proven here. Although Jermaine is expected to be just as good like on his solo album "Dynamite".
